21 Nov Sport & Arts in the Community ( SpArC) South West Shropshire
UPDATE: 13/8/24
We have received this update from SpArC:
‘As the Manager at SpArC and the NPLQ trainer assessor, I would personally like the thank the trust for sourcing and arrange the grant funding that has given this amazing opportunity for students/ local residents to take part and complete the NPLQ.
Candidates with this Qualification will be able to use it not as personal development but also as a means to aid them when applying for university (worth 8 UKCAS points) and applying for positions within the leisure industry, not just at SpArC but all a across the UK.’
We and they are very grateful for the Foundation’s support.
Sport & Art in the Community(SpArC) South West Shropshire is a charity dedicated to meeting the needs of all members of the Communities which it serves in South West Shropshire.
This pool facility is used both for recreational and fitness purposes and approaching 100 patients on GP and Social referrals, pre-school children and toddlers for swimming lessons as well as Primary and Secondary School pupils numbering close to 1000 in total.
The Charity submitted a grant application to the Wynn Foundation earlier this year for funding to support the recruitment and training of additional life-guards (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) awarded by the Royal Life Saving Society).
At a recent meeting of the Wynn Foundation Trustees, the grant application was approved and a cheque presented to SpArC.
We look forward to hearing about this project going from strength to strength.
