13 Sep Shropshire Bookfest receives funding from Wynn Foundation
Trustees from the Wynn Foundation were pleased to be able to approve a grant application from Shropshire Bookfest.
The organisation is a small, flexible, pioneering local charity that prides itself on the development and delivery of high quality, creative, classroom-based activities for primary school children across the county.
It aims to inspire, enthuse and entertain as many children who attend Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin primary schools as possible, through literature and the arts, and help them develop a love of reading and writing.
The funds will contribute towards the cost of books for the classrooms. Prior to every school receiving their creative writing workshop from their designated author, each class is given multiple copies of the author’s work. These books then stay in class in the library.
We look forward to hearing more about the fantastic work of this organisation with the children of Shropshire.
