09 Aug REACT Disaster Response – West Midlands Region
Claire Stokes, Trustee of the Wynn Foundation, was delighted to be able to present REACT Disaster Response – West Midlands Region with a cheque to help support the work of the charity.
REACT Disaster response was formed in Apr 2015 following the Nepal Earthquake.
They re-purpose the hard-earned skills and experience of military veterans and turn them into exceptionally agile and resilient humanitarians, capable of rapidly deploying when people need immediate and urgent relief.
From 2015 until Mar 2020 the charity focused mainly on international disaster response.
When the COVID pandemic struck, the charity found itself grounded and unable to respond internationally, so the decision was made to look at what they could do to support the country during the pandemic and have continued ever since.
We wish this amazing organisation luck with the events it finds itself supporting.
UPDATE 31/10/23:
Thank you for updating us with images of your recent flood team training, which was done in Llangollen. It was fantastic to hear you had 8 team members trained (2 full teams), who will respond to floods in any part of the UK if requested and are located throughout the country, with 4 of them being located locally.
We wish you well with your great work!
