17 Feb Whittington Castle Preservation Trust
The Wynn Foundation recently received a grant application from the Whittington Castle Preservation Trust.
The castle is an 11th Century Norman Castle and the hub of the local and regional community.
The Preservation Trust are arranging a charity fundraising day on 28 March 2026 with the aim of raising funds for local charities but specifically for the Castle Preservation trust to enable essential maintenance works on the grounds.
Designed to attract both thrill-seekers and spectators alike, the festival will feature a vibrant mix of artisan stalls, archery, axe throwing, bush craft, sword fighting skills, live music, historical re-enactments, and family-friendly activities throughout the grounds.
The undisputed highlight of the evening will be a charity firewalk, where participants will have the chance to walk barefoot across hot coals in a powerful display of courage, determination, and community spirit. The firewalk is open to individual participants, corporate teams, and those walking in support of a charity of their choice, making it an inclusive and highly adaptable fundraising challenge.
Wynn Foundation Trustees were pleased to approve the grant that will help to fund the day.
We hope it goes very well for you!
