The Wynn Foundation Presents a Grant to the Red House
The Red House is a village hall in the centre of Albrighton. It is host to social events such as birthday parties, weddings, fitness classes and many clubs and societies for the people of Albrighton and beyond. The Red House is also a venue for charity events and helps to bring the community together. In 2017 they hosted the first Albrighton Christmas party for the elderly and 140 people sat down to a Christmas lunch. This summer The Red House provided a four week activity programme for the school children of Albrighton. Activities included cake making with the WI, fun with the Fire Service, craft and exercise classes. All sessions were completely free of charge and facilitated by volunteers.
The Red House applied to the Wynn Foundation for funding for the creation of a new website as the current website was not fit for purpose. A new website will act as a communication tool to publicise events not only at The Red House, but in Albrighton. There will also be a new booking system to allow hiring of the hall.
In the future The Red House is aiming to become part of the social prescribing programme. Helping residents improve their health, well-being and social welfare and becoming a social hub for the elderly and lonely.

“I was so pleased to be able to present the cheque to Jo. The Red House is the heart of the community in Albrighton. A new website will showcase all the fantastic events and activities The Red House provide.”
